There’s something special about walking into a store and immediately feeling inspired. Maybe it’s a perfectly styled console that makes you rethink your entryway. A pillow in a color you wouldn’t have thought to choose. Or a little ceramic bowl that you pick up because you already picture exactly where it will live at home.
That’s the kind of place we’ve been dreaming of creating.
After years of styling, and designing homes throughout the Kansas City area, we’re excited to share a new chapter of Lemondrop Home: our very own home decor store. It’s a chance to bring the pieces we love using in our design projects together in one place, where you can see them up close, discover something unexpected, and take home a little inspiration.

From Designing Homes to Opening a Store
For us, this next chapter feels like a natural extension of what Lemondrop Home has always been about.
When you work in interior design and home staging, you start noticing how much the details matter. The furniture creates the foundation, of course. But it’s the layered pillows, the art that feels personal, the greenery that softens a corner, and the pieces on a shelf that make a place feel lived in.
Those little decisions are often what turn a room from pretty into a room that feels like home.
Over the years, we’ve spent countless hours pulling furniture selections, finding accessories, layering materials, and figuring out which pieces work beautifully together. We’ve also seen how hard it can be to shop for those finishing touches when you’re sorting through endless options online. A piece might look lovely by itself, but how will it turn out with the rug you already own? Is it the right scale for your coffee table? Will the color feel warm or cool in real life?
Opening a store gives us a way to share more of the discovery part of the design—not only the finished rooms. We wanted to create a space where the selections already have a point of view, but leave plenty of room for yours.
Because decorating a home isn’t about buying everything new or following the trend. It’s about finding things that make your everyday surroundings feel more like you.
What You’ll Find at the Lemondrop Home Store
Think of the shop as an edited collection of pieces that make a home feel layered, thoughtful, and comfortable. Some are the sort of items that completely change the look of a room; others are the small details that make you smile each time you pass by.
Our online store features a broader assortment of furnishings, and decor, while the pieces available to browse in person may change as we bring in new finds. Here’s a look at the categories inspiring the shop.
Thoughtful Home Decor and the Finishing Touches
If you’ve ever looked at a shelf or coffee table and felt that something was missing, this is probably the section you will gravitate towards first.
We love decorative bowls with interesting shapes, simple vases, woven baskets, trays, books, and objects that bring a little personality to a surface. They don’t need to be loud to make an impact. In fact, some of our favorite pieces are quiet: a warm wood finish, a handmade-looking glaze, or a shape that feels just a little different from everything else in the room.
Our vases and bowls and trays, boxes, and baskets collections are a good peek at the kinds of pieces we gravitate toward. Picture a sculptural vessel on an entry table, a wood tray corralling the everyday essentials, or a beautiful bowl that can stand on its own.
They’re easy additions, but they have a way of making a space feel considered.
Pillows, Textiles, and All the Cozy layers
We might be a little biased, but textiles are some of our favorite decorating tools.
A room can have a great sofa and beautiful furniture and still feel unfinished until you layer in the right fabrics. We love mixing natural textures, subtle patterns, earthy tones, and the occasional unexpected color. A soft throw across the arm of a chair or a pair of pillows with different textures can make a familiar room feel completely fresh.
The Lemondrop Home pillow collection includes everything from quiet, neutral styles to more expressive colors and patterns. The beauty is that you don't have to redo an entire living room to try something new. Sometimes one beautiful pillow is the beginning of a whole new direction.
And if you're trying to pull together a living room or bedroom, seeing different textures side by side can help you figure out what actually feels right.
Artwork, Prints, and Pieces with Personality
We believe art should do more than match your furniture.
A well-chosen piece can give a space a focal point, bring in color, create a mood, or add a sense of history. It might be a landscape that makes a room feel peaceful, a vintage-inspired print with a little character, or something graphic that creates contrast against softer furniture.
We especially love how artwork changes when it's framed thoughtfully and placed at the right scale. What feels like a small detail can make an entire wall feel finished.
You can explore our mirrors and art assortment online for a sense of the styles we love. If your gallery wall has been sitting unfinished—or you've been wondering what to put above the console in your dining room—you may find your starting point here.
Gifts and Little Things Worth Bringing Home
Not every visit to a home store needs to turn into a major decorating project. Sometimes you're looking for a hostess gift, a housewarming present, a thoughtful Christmas gift, or just a little something for yourself.
We wanted gifting to be part of the Lemondrop experience, too.
Think beautiful everyday objects that feel special without being overly precious: a stoneware pitcher for someone who loves to host, a candle for a friend who just moved, or a decorative accent that feels personal. We love gifts that are useful, beautiful, and easy to imagine becoming part of someone's daily routine.
If you're already building your holiday list, take a look at our gift collection for ideas before stopping in.
Holiday Decor with a Collected Feel
The timing of our grand opening makes this part especially fun: it's officially the season for a little Christmas decorating.
Our approach to the holidays is the same as our approach to everyday interiors. We like things to feel warm, layered, and collected over time—not as though every decoration had to come from the same box. The prettiest holiday homes often mix old favorites and meaningful family pieces with a few new additions each year.
Our Christmas decorations include vintage-inspired ornaments, decorative wreaths, garlands, and framed seasonal artwork. You might recognize the charm of a mercury-glass ornament or love the idea of bringing in a bit of nostalgia with antique-style Christmas art.
You don't have to replace everything you already have. Pick one or two new textures or colors, mix them with your traditional pieces, and let your holiday style evolve naturally.
Furniture and Larger Pieces for the Rooms You're Working On
Of course, sometimes the thing your home needs isn't small at all.
Alongside the finishing touches, we're bringing the same designer's eye to furniture, rugs, lighting, and room-defining pieces. Maybe you're hunting for an accent chair that actually feels comfortable, a coffee table with character, or the rug that finally makes your seating arrangement feel connected.
Our online collections let you explore options across living room furniture, rugs, table lamps, and more. Some larger furnishings may be available by special order rather than to take home that day, so ask us about the piece you have your eye on.
The goal is simple: you should be able to find the little finishing touches and discover the larger pieces that make everything else come together.
A Store That Feels Like Inspiration, Not Homework
One of the things we love most about design is watching someone recognize what they like when they see it in a finished space.
That can be surprisingly hard to do while scrolling through individual product photos. A lamp is easier to picture when it's beside a sofa. A decorative bowl makes more sense when you see it styled on a table. A pillow suddenly looks less intimidating when it's layered with two others in different textures.
That's why we want the shop to feel approachable. You shouldn't need to know design terminology, have a perfectly coordinated mood board, or be ready to spend an entire afternoon deciding on one vase. You can walk in, take a look, and find what speaks to you.
If you are actively working on a room, though, here's a tiny designer tip before you visit: bring a few photos and measurements with you. A quick picture of your sofa, the width of your entry table, or the approximate size of that empty wall can make choosing the right piece so much easier.
You may also find that what you thought you needed isn't quite what the room is asking for. Maybe you came for art but notice that a lamp would bring in the height your space is missing. That's part of the fun of seeing things in person.
Three Easy Ideas to Try After Your Visit
We love a store visit that leaves you with more than a shopping bag. Here are three little ideas you can borrow from the way we style our own projects.
Refresh an Entryway in Fifteen Minutes
Start with the surface you see when you walk in the door. Clear it off, then add one anchor piece—perhaps a vase or lamp. Layer in a smaller object, like a decorative bowl for keys, and finish with something that has a natural texture or interesting shape. You don't need five tiny accessories. A few pieces with different heights usually look more intentional.
Make Your Living Room Feel Warmer Without Changing the Furniture
Choose two pillows that relate to one another but aren't identical. Mix a quiet pattern with a solid texture, or combine a warm brown with a soft cream. Add a throw and consider a tray for your coffee table. If everything feels a little flat, greenery can add movement without taking over the room. Browse our pillows and greenery and florals for ideas.
Give Your Holiday Decorations a Little More Character
Instead of buying an entirely new set of ornaments, choose a small handful that work with what you already have. Vintage-inspired glass, a ribbon detail, or a little antique-looking framed art can make your seasonal decorating feel more layered. The most memorable holiday spaces have a little history to them—and there's no reason yours has to look exactly like anyone else's.
Can't Make the Grand Opening? You Can Shop Lemondrop Home Online
We know schedules fill up quickly, especially this time of year. If you can't visit on Thursday, you can still browse the Lemondrop Home online store from wherever you are.
One of our favorite features is Shop the Artisan Home, where pieces are organized room by room. Instead of imagining how a rug, chair, or decorative accent might work in a finished space, you can browse items inspired by actual designer-styled rooms. Start with the Artisan Home living room and explore from there.
You can also browse by category when you know exactly what you're looking for. And because the shop will continue to evolve, it's worth checking back to see new arrivals and seasonal favorites.
A Little Thank You to Our Kansas City Community
Before we open the doors, we want to say thank you.
Lemondrop Home has grown through the trust of homeowners, real estate professionals, builders, clients, friends, and people who simply love seeing a space come together. Every home we've staged, every design project we've worked on, and every conversation about what makes a house feel personal has helped shape this next chapter.
A store is something new for us, but the idea behind it isn't. We've always believed that beautiful homes should also be comfortable, practical, and full of personality. This is one more way we get to share that philosophy with the community that has supported us along the way.
We're proud to be part of the Kansas City design community, and we're genuinely excited to have a new place to connect with all of you.
